It’s the final part of the 2022 Kpopalypse Objectification Survey results! Who are the most attractive k-pop idols for 2022, according to Kpopalypse readers? Let’s take a look!
The last part of the Kpopalypse 2022 Objectification Survey is essentially the “face” category, where we take a look at the most attractive men and women in k-pop according to Kpopalypse readers! This section of the results is therefore completely politically correct and not objectifying or sexualising anybody whatsoever, because we all know that saying a boob is pretty is a very sexual statement, but saying a face is pretty is not sexual at all! Many Kpopalypse readers enjoyed being TC Candler for a day, let’s take a look at how they voted!
As per last year, voters were asked to choose up to three nominees in each category, best first, and points were allocated as per the following system:
- Your first choice was weighted 100% higher than your second choice
- Your second choice was weighted 66% higher than your third choice
- If you doubled or tripled on choices, only the first choice was counted
- Choices after the third were disregarded in all cases
Scores were then tallied to give the final results across all categories.
The four results posts are as follows:
Part 1: FEMALE BOOBS and MALE ABS/TORSO – click HERE for the results!
Part 2: FEMALE and MALE ASSES – click HERE for the results!
Part 3: FEMALE and MALE LEGS – click HERE for the results!
Part 4: OVERALL MOST ATTRACTIVE FEMALES and MALES – this post!
Remember folks – that if you object to any of the choices here, you only have yourselves to blame as these were 100% your votes, not mine. Kpopalypse does not even cast a vote – this isn’t like a rigged Korean TV show where the “judges” get a say and can overturn fan opinion. If you want to see a certain result, then it’s your responsibility to spread the surveys to the people who are going to vote for your faves!
MOST ATTRACTIVE WOMEN IN K-POP
#1 – KARINA – AESPA
249 points
(2021 position – #18)
It’s tough to dethrone a number one – people who get there tend to stick around, and no other categories in the Kpopalypse objectification survey saw any movement at the top position. This all changed in the most attractive women category, where aespa’s Karina rocketed up from eighteenth place the previous year to snatch the crown!
#2 – IRENE – RED VELVET
230 points
(2021 position – #1)
While Red Velvet’s Irene was knocked out of the top spot, it was by a pretty small margin, and Irene hung onto a confident second place, with plenty of Kpopalypse readers feeling her rhythm this year.
#3 – SANA – TWICE
218 points
(2021 position – #2)
Twice’s Sana also dropped a spot this year due to the invasion of forces from planet Kwangya, but her and other Twice members remained enduringly popular in the voting this year!
#4 – IU
217 points
(2021 position – #5)
How did IU gain a place this year? By being more attractive than your bias, that’s how. It’s also possible that Annie bribed some of you – while some cheat duplicate votes were removed across all voting categories this year, receiving a bribe from Annie is not technically counted as cheating.
#5 – JIHYO – TWICE
151 points
(2021 position – #11)
Jihyo has always been a big feature of the objectification survey in other categories, but in the most attractive section she’s recently been climbing year after year. Plenty of Twice activity plus some well-chosen fashions helped Jihyo stand out from the pack even more than usual.
#6 – JOY – RED VELVET
133 points
(2021 position – #4)
Last year, almost half of the picture status candidates retained their exact same spot from the previous year. In 2022, charts were much more chaotic and no female entrants are in the same place that they were in 2021. Red Velvet’s Joy dropped a couple spots but still remains very relevant to Kpopalypse surveydoers!
#7 – MINA – TWICE
130 points
(2021 position – #9)
When you read Kpopalypse polls you’ve got to get used to Twice members appearing a lot. Mina always performs well and her sharp style gained her a couple placings for 2022.
#8 – EUNHA – VIVIZ
117 points
(2021 position – #26)
The transition from Gfriend to Viviz allowed Eunha to make a big impact on readers, as she firmly ascends into the k-pop visual A-list. Judging by Viviz’ career trajectory we can probably expect Eunha visual domination to continue through the k-pop world, so expect to see her poll well in future surveys!
#9 – MOMO – TWICE
116 points
(2021 position – #6)
Did I mention that when you read Kpopalypse polls you’ve got to get used to Twice members appearing a lot? Anyway, here’s Momo, and enjoy the acrostic poem by Jeongyeon in the video who didn’t even make the honourable mentions this year, clearly unacceptable voting from you lot, I’m off to write a letter to my local member of parliament about it…
#10 – YVES – LOONA
115 points
(2021 position – #8)
Yves slipped a couple places in the polls but retains her status as Loona’s flagship visual and person who Chuu would rather have gay sex with the most.
#11 – JENNIE – BLACKPINK
113 points
(2021 position – #10)
Despite their high profile in the k-pop world as influencers and models who occasionally also do music sometimes, Blackpink largely struck out in the polls this year. Still, nothing could dislodge Jennie from picture status in the most attractive category!
#12 – TZUYU – TWICE
97 points
(2021 position – #3)
A big dive for Tzuyu in a category where she normally dominates above her groupmates, I’m not sure what happened here, perhaps the voting was compromised by Chinese spies. Anyway, Taiwan is still a country and Tzuyu is still relevant to Kpopalypse polls, even with an entire dictatorship working against her she still managed to chart in picture status!
#13 – HEEJIN – LOONA
84 points
(2021 position – #31)
A big move up for Loona’s Heejin as she ascends into picture status for the first time, and rounds out this year’s most attractive females category!
HONOURABLE MENTIONS

#15 – Chaewon – Le Sserafim
#16 – Yooa – Oh My Girl
#17 – Wonyoung – IVE
#18 – Kazuha – Le Sserafim
#19 – Xiaoting – Kep1er
#20 – Jisoo – Blackpink
#21 – Miyeon – (G)I-dle
#22 – Taeyeon – Girls’ Generation
#23 – Yoohyeon – Dreamcatcher
#24 – Dami – Dreamcatcher
#25 – Seolhyun – AOA

#28 – Haseul – Loona
#29 – Sohee – Alice
#30 – Nana – After School/Orange Caramel
#31 – Sua – Dreamcatcher
#32 – Swan – Purple Kiss

#37 – Hyunjin – Loona
#38 – Yiren – Everglow
#39 – Yuna – Itzy

#41 – Dahyun – Twice
#42 – Chuu – Loona
#43 – Ryujin – Itzy
#44 – Shuhua – (G)I-dle
Now it’s time to take a look at the male category! Who are the hottest k-pop guys in 2022?
*
MOST ATTRACTIVE MEN IN K-POP
#1 – WONHO – EX-MONSTA X
517 points
(2021 position – #1)
There once was a time when other men besides Wonho did quite well in the Kpopalypse objectification survey. However that time is not now, and Wonho scoops the #1 position in all categories in which he is eligible, for the second year running!
#2 – SHINDONG – SUPER JUNIOR
135 points
(2021 position – #2)
Holding only second place by just a single point, Super Junior’s Shindong barely retains his placing. Never let it be said that your vote doesn’t count – especially if it’s a vote for the Dong!
#3 – KAI – EXO
134 points
(2021 position – #3)
EXO’s Kai also managed to hang onto his place from last year, proving to be an enduring favourite and beating out many newcomers!
#4 – TAEHYUNG – BTS
132 points
(2021 position – #6)
Kpopalypse readers also couldn’t resist BTS’s Taehyung, who gained a couple placings. Who knows, he might start collecting even more votes now that his group are on hiatus and he has a chance for a break for some health improvement. Perhaps he’ll hit the gym to make an attempt to topple Wonho’s reign?
#5 – MINGYU – SEVENTEEN
111 points
(2021 position – did not chart)
Where did this come from? The biggest shock of the entire survey – Seventeen’s Mingyu shot up from absolutely buttfuck nowhere last year to score fifth position in 2022! I’m not sure what he did to ingratiate himself to Kpopalypse readers so heavily, but whatever he’s doing is definitely working.
#6 – EUNWOO – ASTRO
107 points
(2021 position – #8)
Astro’s Eunwoo keeps climbing year after year, and this time he ranked sixth overall – how high will he go in future years?
#7 – HAECHAN – NCT
105 points
(2021 position – #33)
NCT’s Haechan had big performance consistently across all categories in the male results this year and is definitely another name to watch.
#8 – HYUNJIN – STRAY KIDS
104 points
(2021 position – #9)
Hyunjin from Stray Kids has been doing well for quite some time in the survey results, and 2022 proves to be another good year for him as he gains another place.
#9 – TAEMIN – SHINEE
103 points
(2021 position – #23)
There’s always plenty of room for second-generation k-pop stars in the Kpopalypse poll results, and SHINee’s Taemin proves that he definitely still has what it takes to impress, as he shoots up into picture status for 2022!
#10 – FELIX – STRAY KIDS
98 points
(2021 position – #28)
A performer new to picture status, Stray Kids’ Felix improved vastly on last year’s placing and managed to grab tenth spot.
#11 – D.O/KYUNGSOO – EXO
93 points
(2021 position – #4)
EXO’s D.O couldn’t replicate his very impressive performance from 2021, but he still managed a very respectable 11th place in a race where the numbers were very close!
#12 – JAEHYUN – NCT
91 points
(2021 position – #5)
Jaehyun from NCT was another performer who saw quite a dip in votes compared to the previous year, but still retained coveted picture status for 2022!
#13 – BANG CHAN – STRAY KIDS
86 points
(2021 position – #20)
Bang Chan has an excellent year in 2022 for the survey results, and his placing finishes off our survey results for another year!
HONOURABLE MENTIONS

#44 – Hendery – Wayv
That’s all for the objectification results for another year! Thank you for reading and participating! Kpopalypse will see you again!
Oppar your photo of Bang Chan (Male #13) is actually of Felix (Male #10).
Thanks – fixed!
Kep1er member = Xiaoting, not Xiaotang.
Nice work! I’m happy to see DPR Ian, my #1 pick, made it on the male list, despite generally being nugu. Either some other people like him too or there weren’t that many votes in the 40s range. Also cool to see Yoohyeon/Dami placing highest of the Dreamcatcher members.
Thanks for the pickup – fixed! To get placed in the 40s range you do need quite a lot of people voting for you, just one ain’t gonna do it…
Now that I am finally able to log in and comment again, I want to express my deep and crippling sadness about not seeing my favourite idol in this list. That she didn‘t even make the honorable mentions is unfair and cruel. I am disappointed to the point that I decided to translate and post a poem about my desire to leave the troublesome life as a person troubled by problems like this:
눈 내리는 날
눈 내란다/
마울에서 개가 되고 싶다 /
마을 보리밭에서 개가 되고 싶다/
아냐/
깊은 산중/
아무것도 모르고/
잠든 곰이 되고 싶다/
눈 내린다/
눈 내린다
Snowy Day
Snow is falling.
I want to become a dog in a village.
I want to become a dog in the villages barley field.
No.
Deep in the mountains,
aware of nothing,
I want to become a sleeping bear.
Snow is falling.
Snow is falling.
This poem is from one of the most prolific and well-known contemporary Korean writers, Ko Un. His numerous works got published ever since the Korean war, he lived as a Buddhist monk for some years, came back and fought for democracy under the Yushin regime (and was jailed and tortured for it many times), was a leading figure in the South-South divide over how to approach North Korea, he even was a member of the first delegation to North Korea under Kim Dae-jung.
This poem can certainly be interpreted in many different ways, but I chose to express my sadness with it as I believe it expresses a situation you would like to get away from (for example pressure, anxiety, things like that, that keeps piling onto you like snow), that makes you dream of being somewhere else, in a deep slumber, unaware of any troubles – but as you get back to reality, you realize that nothing changes: The snow keeps falling.
Who’s your favorite idol, Caspar?
Loona’s Gowon, if you really want to know
I’m glad to see some of the old entries on the list and the new ones too.
But I’ll be sure to upvote Lapillus’ Chanty next year. She is one of the faces of today’s KPOP scene and probably next year too if they don’t quickly flop like their seniors Momoland.
Remember Chanty of Lapillus. just posting for awareness 🙂
Seriously Jungkook from Turbo can match Wonho in every aspect plus he’s got a killer voice as well. Y’all should watch more Running Man or something. Guess there’s always next year then.
Karina no.1 and Irene no.2… Boring. Hopefully, NingNing and Giselle will make it onto the list in future. Giselle is looking particularly attractive on recent stages, it’s as if someone has realised that she doesn’t have to be covered head-to-toe/dressed in whatever was leftover from the other 3 at every opportunity.
Eunha is extremely attractive, but the pic of her used here is a bit scary, haha. Not sure if you saw Koreaboo/knetz losing their minds over Eunha wearing a bra-back top, but it was hilarious. Hopefully she’ll continue to have less ‘aegyo’ styling, Koreans still seem somewhat terrified of her sex appeal and stick hearts on her face so that she’s less sexy? Errr. Umji somehow manages to come out looking good almost all the time, it’s like she has a style superpower!
Yay for Xiaoting making the honourable mentions, I wonder if my Kep1er bias would ever make it onto this list… I suspect not.
Top picture work across the board, especially on Jihyo and Joy. Seeing how much weight Joy lost and the creepy celebrations from Knetz about how she’s now thinner than a sheet of paper has been beyond depressing. As a straight woman, I’m not judging Joy, but I am judging the arseholes who both urge these women into eating disorder levels of thin, then concern troll about how they’re ‘too thin.’
Irene, 31, still at the top in an industry where Idols now start at 13… She really is the Original Visual. Karina was doomed to be the next big visual (with Yiren, but Everglow seems to be on a hiatus), and I’m happy to see Eunha doing so well, I’ve discovered her with Viviz and the girl is absolutely stunning. To me, the most beautiful are Mina (Twice) and Jiu, who topped a list made by people who had no clues about kpop and therefore didn’t care about which group Idols were in. Oh, and I’m so happy to see Jiyho so high, she truly is a beauty and to me she is the best Idol overall in modern kpop, a perfect combination of everything (and I say that as a RevLuv).
