The Kpopalypse 2021 Objectification Survey results part 4 of 4 – MOST ATTRACTIVE MEN AND WOMEN in k-pop

It’s the final part of the 2021 Kpopalypse Objectification Survey results! Who are the most attractive k-pop idols for 2021, according to Kpopalypse readers? Let’s take a look!

The last part of the Kpopalypse 2021 Objectification Survey is essentially the “face” category, where we take a look at the most attractive men and women in k-pop according to Kpopalypse readers!  This section of the results is therefore completely politically correct and not objectifying or sexualising whatsoever, because we all know that saying a boob is pretty is a very sexual statement, but saying a face is pretty is not sexual at all!  Over 600 readers enjoyed being TC Candler for a day, let’s take a look at how they voted!

As per last year, voters were asked to choose up to three nominees in each category, best first, and points were allocated as per the following system:

  • Your first choice was weighted 100% higher than your second choice
  • Your second choice was weighted 66% higher than your third choice
  • If you doubled or tripled on choices, only the first choice was counted
  • Choices after the third were disregarded in all cases

Scores were then tallied to give the final results across all categories.

The four results posts are as follows:

Part 1: FEMALE BOOBS and MALE ABS/TORSOclick HERE for the results!

Part 2: FEMALE and MALE ASSESclick HERE for the results!

Part 3: FEMALE and MALE LEGSclick HERE for the results!

Remember folks – that if you object to any of the choices here, you only have yourselves to blame as these were 100% your votes, not mine.  Kpopalypse does not even cast a vote – this isn’t like a rigged Korean TV show where the “judges” get a say and can overturn fan opinion.  If you want to see a certain result, then it’s your responsibility to spread the surveys to the people who are going to vote for your faves!

Despite lower popularity within the k-pop world as a whole due to her alleged mistreatment of her staff, Irene retained her #1 position as most attractive female k-popper and even increased the distance of her lead.  Some Kpopalypse readers clearly thought that the idea of Irene potentially fulfilling their tsundere BDSM fantasies in the real world only made her more attractive than ever.  Remember folks, she only hates you because you deserve it.

Twice’s Sana also had no problems holding onto her number two spot, a position she’s now held for three straight years!  Or perhaps three LGBT years, as the majority of Kpopalypse readers are actually female, a fact that those trying to strawman Kpopalypse as creepy entertainment for men continually forget/ignore.

Tzuyu keeps her position by the barest of margins, maybe that apology she made to the Chinese all those years ago finally paid off.  If you were the Chinese Kpopalypse reader who voted for Tzuyu because you were impressed by her humility and groveling towards your country, please let yourself be known in the comments!

Joy was one solitary point away from me being able to write something more interesting here than just mentioning the fact that she also retained her place from the previous year.  Never let it be said that your votes in the Objectification Survey don’t make a difference!

#5 – IU

(2020 position – #5)

And again.  Can you believe that the top five positions haven’t even moved from the previous year?  Kpopalypse readers know what they like, and they like IU.

The first actual movement in chart placings for this post, the ever-popular Momo ascended back into the top ten for 2021!  Nobody is really sure why this happened, but nobody is questioning it either.

However I’m pretty sure that I know why Haseul has suddenly also skyrocketed in popularity – news of her returning to Loona after a long hiatus has clearly gotten Kpopalypse readers very excited and ready to support Haseul in all the polls that matter.  As the leading k-pop objectification survey in the world today, it’s no wonder that Kpopalypse polling attracted many Haseul votes.

Loona dancer and Kpopalypse favourite Yves dipped a couple spots but unsurprisingly still held onto a top ten placing, as the entire Kpopalypse readership tried their hardest not to have gay sex with her in their minds and probably mostly failed.

Again I have to wonder how many more votes Mina would have received if only her fans knew how to follow the voting rules, but then maybe all those other votes actually were for AOA’s Mina and it wouldn’t have made any difference, who can be sure.  What we do know is that even with all this confusion present, Twice’s Mina still performed admirably.

Another veteran of the polls who isn’t going anywhere, Blackpink’s Jennie clings onto her spot in the top ten for the third straight year.  It looks like Jennie will remain in our area for some time.

While more notorious for dominating other areas of the Kpopalypse Objectification Survey results, enough readers recognised the overall attractiveness qualities of Twice’s Jihyo to grant her picture status for 2021.

IZ*ONE member and oppressed victim of some trash TV show that nobody intelligent watched for more than five seconds, Hyewon was the biggest shock entrant to the overall attractiveness category for 2021.  Honestly she probably deserves a spot in these results just out of sympathy to make her feel better about having to participate in the dumpster fire that is Korean TV music competition shows.

#13 – CHUU – LOONA

What is existence.  I like cake.

Now it’s time to take a look at the male category!  Who are the hottest k-pop guys in 2021?

In 2021 Wonho has achieved what no other k-pop performer male or female has ever managed in the Kpopalypse Objectification Survey, which is to obtain first place in every single category of the results for which he is eligible!  Congratulations go to Wonho for his outstanding efforts in providing easily objectifiable content to Kpopalypse readers!

Of course plenty of readers also had time to vote for Super Junior’s Shindong, who is always a popular pick, especially among those people who have no idea who else to vote for.  Mind you a surprising amount of Shindong votes were actually from people who also had him as their second or third choice, which a wide variety of k-pop men being first, so I can definitely attest to “troll voting” being a lot less common than many people would suspect.

#3 – KAI – EXO

157 points

(2020 position – #3)

Kai has been a popular high-placing choice across all categories, so it’s no surprise to see him turn up at third place again in the overall attractiveness results.

Meanwhile groupmate D.O was anything but stable, rocketing straight up into picture status this year.  I’m not sure what prompted this increase in popularity, but Kpopalypse readers were happy to give him his highest position yet.

NCT’s Jaehyun slipped a place, but only by one point.  Just one extra NCT fan putting him as their third choice could have prevented this.  Never let it be said that voting isn’t important!

Several readers might have passed the “don’t fall in love with Taehyung” challenge but the “don’t objectify Taehyung” challenge proved to be a lot more difficult, as Taehyung maintained his position from the previous year.

109 points

(2020 position – #5)

Jungkook slipped a couple spots this year, but the male objectification race was very close due to Wonho grabbing so many of the points for himself that there wasn’t a lot else left to go around.  Fractions of votes separate many of the main contenders in this category.

While not in a massive A-list group, Astro’s Eunwoo nevertheless has the right stuff to be considered A-list for objectification purposes, with his popularity here steadily increasing.

2021 was a good year for Stray Kids and Hyunjin moves up the rankings, probably because of all that sexy bullying.  It’s a shame that cheat voting this year kind of ruined Stray Kids’ reputation a little, because he does also have legitimate popularity in these polls.

I’m not sure what Juyeon is reading in the picture above – some porn, probably, and who can blame him?  He’s probably taking notes for how to exceed and climb even higher in the Objectification Survey results for 2022.

Is Shownu really one of a kind, or just one of Wonho’s kind?  Regardless of the answer to this existential question, Kpopalypse readers decided that Shownu was certainly one of their kind.

#12 – LUCAS – NCT

79 points

(2020 position – #12)

Lucas was also able to hang onto his position this year in what was some very close polling.

#13 – SEHUN – EXO

73 points

EXO’s Sehun finishes off the Kpopalypse Objectification Survey results for 2021!  Happy objectifaction, everyone!

  1. It baffles me that Choa didn’t even place this year, despite historically strong showings given a complete lack of content

    • Yeah I expected it also, especially given that she did well in other categories. Still, it was nice not to have to trawl through the depths of the Internet to find yet another picture of Choa that I haven’t used yet, for a change.

      • If I had to put out a wild theory, I’d hazard that it’s because Choa returned to entertainment with a slightly altered face. And maybe this new Choa has old voters going, “Nah, I preferred her face face,” and thus losing votes.
Her body is same, so nothing really changed there.
