It’s time for part two of the four-part Kpopalypse Objectification Survey results!  These results are all about ass – who had the best asses in k-pop over the last 12 months?  Read on as Kpopalypse’s readers decide!

Is it true that k-pop fans really enjoy treating their favourite idols like objects?  Of course they do!  Just remember fans, that your bias is not an object – they are a person… with a great ass!  Let’s take a look at the best k-pop asses for 2021!

As per previous years, voters were asked to choose up to three nominees in each category, best first, and points were allocated as per the following system:

• Your first choice was weighted 100% higher than your second choice
• Your second choice was weighted 66% higher than your third choice
• If you doubled or tripled on choices, only the first choice was counted
• Choices after the third were disregarded in all cases

Scores were then tallied to give the final results across all categories.

Remember folks – that if you object to any of the choices here, you only have yourselves to blame as these were 100% your votes, not mine.  Kpopalypse does not even cast a vote – this isn’t like a rigged Korean TV show where the “judges” get a say and can overturn fan opinion.  If you want to see a certain result, then it’s your responsibility to spread the surveys to the people who are going to vote for your faves!

BEST FEMALE ASSES

#1 – NANCY – MOMOLAND

(2020 position – #1)

Having held onto the number one placing since 2018, Nancy showed no signs of letting go this year, with her glutes still way ahead of the pack.  Even Momoland’s slightly lower activity profile over the past twelve months did little to dent her lead.

#2 – YOOHYEON – DREAMCATCHER

(2020 position – #2)

Dreamcatcher’s Yoohyeon also easily held onto her second placing for the second consecutive year, proving to be an enduring favourite with Kpopalypse surveydoers.

#3 – HWASA – MAMAMOO

(2020 position – #4)

Another big ass list favourite, Hwasa actually gained a place, despite her agency seemingly demanding that she always wear only the baggiest and least form-fitting clothes possible for 99% of her stage work.  The attention of dedicated Kpopalypse ass objectifiers is not easily diverted!

#4 – RYUJIN – ITZY

The breakout new success in the ass category for 2021 was Itzy’s Ryujin, who shot up into picture status for the first time, even beating out her usually higher-performing groupmate Chaeyeong for placement.  Last year I didn’t even know how to spell her name, but this year there was no fear of that as I kept reading it in the results again and again!

#5 – EUNJI – APINK

From here on out, the results of the ass voting get very close, with less than a single vote of points separating the distance between most idols!  Eunji hung onto her fifth placing for this year, yet missing out on advancement by a butthair-width, probably due to Apink being reasonably quiet lately.

MOMO – TWICE / SEULGI – RED VELVET

Who dares to choose between the asses of Twice’s Momo and Red Velvet’s Seulgi?  Certainly not Kpopalypse’s readership, who decided to award exactly equal points to both!

#7 – ARIN – OH MY GIRL

(2020 position – did not chart)

Another performer who missed out on a higher position by a distance smaller than the gap between Nancy’s left and right asscheek, Oh My Girl’s Arin shot up from nowhere last year to secure an impressive top ten placing for 2021.

#8 – CHOA – EX-AOA

(2020 position – #6)

Choa was back being a k-pop again in 2021, however a lot of her newer performances were for ballad material that was not very ass-fetish friendly.  Readers nevertheless still fondly remember the AOA days, so enjoy the above photo and video taken from before the Earth’s formation.

Itzy members did well in 2021, probably due to the group’s overall increasing popularity, which never hurts ranking placements.

There was a big dive in the results for Seolhyun this year – was it due to AOA being eclipsed by other groups?  Unlikely, as Choa still polled well.  Maybe it was just that nobody liked the thought of being bullied by someone in the top tier of k-pop asses, although personally I would have given Seolhyun my lunch money.

The underscore group get their first picture placement in the Kpopalypse objectification survey with Saerom zooming up the ass charts this year.  Their group name may have unnecessary flat parts but it seems that Saerom does not.

Twice members are no strangers to the Objectification Survey, and Mina bounced back into picture status this year off the back of renewed Twice activity and lots of ass-friendly stages.

Wonho easily snatched back his crown as the number one male ass in k-pop, rocketing way ahead in the polls thanks to plenty of gym time, a ridiculous amount of Instagram thirst posting and some very objectification-friendly live stages.  Wonho scooped up so many votes this year that numbers all across the board for every other male performer in 2021 were much lower than usual, just like Wonho’s ass in the above picture.

#2 – SHINDONG – SUPER JUNIOR

Kpopalypse reader favourite Shindong lost the top honours this year but still managed to put in a voting performance stronger than his belt buckle, keeping many of your k-pop faves away from the number two spot.

#3 – JIMIN – BTS

While BTS overall have suffered in the objectification polls a lot compared to their pre-crossover heyday, Jimin’s ass was the exception.  The one-time leader gained a couple spots this year, proving that just because an ass is popular and trending doesn’t mean it’s not also appreciated by Kpopalypse readers.

Despite a general lack of live stages, Sehun still performed well on positive reputation.  Sehun also has the distinction of owning the only ass in this list that Kpopalypse has seen in person.

Where Sehun is in an ass poll, D.O’s behind is never far behind.  Like his groupmate, D.O hasn’t done much live recently so sorry about the old video, let’s hope the world gets on top of this COVID thing soon so the asses of k-poppers can once again sit in airplane seats and travel to some new concerts to be filmed for this series.

There’s plenty of room in these polls for love of k-pop veterans, and 2PM’s Junho has always been a popular pick in these polls, showing no signs of falling out of favour this year.

The first new entrant into picture status for 2021 is NCT’s Mark, who was definitely helped along by NCT being very active with several comebacks and performances throughout the last twelve months.  Maybe those white pants helped him out, too – it appears his ass can do the sport ball shape.

Ateez’ Hongjoong also races up into picture status for the first time, even beating out his groupmate Yunho’s placing from the year prior.

Shownu dipped in the polls significantly for 2021, and honestly I think he’s the biggest victim of “Wonho erasure” this year.  I say this because searches for Shownu’s ass just brought up a ton of pics of Wonho’s ass instead, so he seems to now be living in the shadow of Wonho – and that’s a very large shadow both figuratively and literally.  Here’s the same picture of Shownu that I used last year, just animated this time, because that’s about the best I could do.

Another new entrant, Seungkwan showed that just because your group still can’t release a song capable of making a Kpopalypse list, doesn’t mean you’re going to get neglected in the ass category.  Here’s hoping that they bring some musical form soon that’s able to match the form of Seungkwan’s ass.

Did you know that Nu’est’s Baekho has been sitting at #12 on the ass poll for three years running?  It’s true!  Maybe if I could find some decent butt pics of him in anything other than that one performance he did in that white suit, his position might improve.  No wonder Wonho is creaming the competition – nobody else is putting in any effort.
