The results of the 2021 Kpopalypse Objectification Survey are in! Let’s take a look at how Kpopalypse readers voted in the all-important categories of male and female k-pop idol flesh!
Is it true that k-pop fans really enjoy objectification, depersonalisation, and reducing their favourite k-pop bias to a mere sex object for personal gratification? Of course they do, and the 2021 Objectification Survey had a huge amount of entries from people willing to do just this! Let’s take a look at the results!
As per previous years, voters were asked to choose up to three nominees in each category, best first, and points were allocated as per the following system:
- Your first choice was weighted 100% higher than your second choice
- Your second choice was weighted 66% higher than your third choice
- If you doubled or tripled on choices, only the first choice was counted
- Choices after the third were disregarded in all cases
Scores were then tallied to give the final results across all categories.
The four results posts are as follows:
Part 1: FEMALE BOOBS and MALE ABS/TORSO – this post
Part 2: FEMALE and MALE ASSES – click HERE for the results!
Part 3: FEMALE and MALE LEGS – click HERE for the results!
Part 4: OVERALL MOST ATTRACTIVE FEMALES and MALES – click HERE for the results!
Remember folks – that if you object to any of the choices here, you only have yourselves to blame as these were 100% your votes, not mine. Kpopalypse does not even cast a vote – these are NOT my picks but YOURS, and this isn’t like a rigged Korean TV show where the “judges” get a say and can overturn fan opinion. If you want to see a certain result, then it’s your responsibility to spread the surveys to the people who are going to vote for your faves!
BEST FEMALE BOOBS
#1 – JIHYO – TWICE
1169 points
(2020 position – #1)
For the fourth year running, Twice’s Jihyo easily outperformed all competition to walk away with the number one position in the all-important female boobs category. Was there really ever any doubt? It will take only the strongest contenders to snatch the crown from Jihyo in future, but I don’t see this happening anytime soon.
#2 – EUNBI – IZ*ONE
407 points
(2020 position – #2)
IZ*ONE might still have no songs of interest to Kpopalypse after all this time, but that certainly didn’t deter Kpopalypse readers, who wasted no time handing Eunbi the #2 position for the second year in a row.
#3 – KARINA – AESPA
374 points
(2020 position – did not chart)
The first big shakeup for the polls in 2021, Karina’s performance in the upper-body results truly was next-level, as she moved from a solid nowhere in 2020 to secure an impressive third placing.
#4 – MOMO – TWICE
257 points
(2020 position – #4)
Momo has been a regular feature of this survey for a long time, and 2021 didn’t do anything to change her results.
#5 – HYOSUNG – EX-SECRET
191 points
(2020 position – #3)
Hyosung slipped a couple places this year due to inactivity, making 2021 the lowest she has ever scored in the objectification survey. I haven’t actually checked this, but I’m pretty sure this is correct, because why wouldn’t it be. Please enjoy this pic and vid from 1963 that you’ve probably already seen 126 times.
#6 – SUNNY – GIRLS’ GENERATION
175 points
(2020 position – #7)
Another second-generation performer who is definitely not forgotten, Sunny’s public music-related appearances over the last 12 months amounted to a single two-second cameo in someone else’s trot song. However this didn’t affect her results – everybody voting this year obviously felt that she had earned her stripes and was okay with that.
#7 – HAYOUNG – APINK
146 points
(2020 position – #5)
Apink have had a pretty quiet last 12 months, but that only means more time for Hayoung to grow and further harness her power.
#8 – SOWON – GFRIEND
135 points
(2020 position – did not chart)
Long neglected by k-pop fans in anything other than the legs category, who knows what forces suddenly propelled Gfriend’s Sowon into the top ten for 2021. Maybe Gfriend fans invaded the polls, or perhaps it was a conspiracy launched by her new love interest? Regardless, now that her group appears to be all but over, the future of Sowon boob content has been plunged into uncertainty almost as soon as it’s been discovered. Kpopalypse will monitor these developments closely.
#9 – AHIN – MOMOLAND
123 points
(2020 position – #9)
Momoland having their membership severely trimmed down over the years has arguably worked in Ahin’s favour, as she’s been able to more easily shine with less competition. Maybe this is part of her evil plan for boobs list domination – or maybe Kpopalypse readers are just very observant.
#10 – GAHYEON – DREAMCATCHER
114 points
(2020 position – #22)
A big move up in the charts for Dreamcatcher’s Gahyeon, as she rockets ahead of many competitors to secure a top ten placing ahead of many old favourites. Could this mean Dreamcatcher are on the cusp of world domination? Who knows, but Kpopalypse readers were happy to let Dreamcatcher dominate their voting preferences.
#11 – SOMI – SOLOIST/EX-IOI
108 points
(2020 position – #11)
I’m going to be completely honest, I’m not even sure what Somi has been up to over the last twelve months. Readers however must have been on the pulse as her position in the polls hasn’t slipped any.
#12 – HYUNA – SOLOIST/EX-4MINUTE
94 points
(2020 position – #10)
Now at industry veteran status, not to mention Kpopalypse boobs list veteran status, Hyuna still put on a strong showing for 2021, and there’ll probably always be a place for her in the hearts and minds of Kpopalypse readers.
#13 – OLIVIA HYE – LOONA
92 points
(2020 position – #15)
You knew that it was destiny – Olivia Hye has finally ascended into picture status for 2021, rounding out the female selections for this year.

#44 – Nancy – Momoland
Of course an objectification survey result post is not complete without a hefty serving of hunky man-meat for you to drool over – let’s now take a look at the male upper-body category for 2021!

BEST MALE ABS/TORSO
#1 – WONHO – SOLOIST/EX-MONSTA X
939 points
(2020 position – #1)
In possibly the least surprising turn of events that has ever occurred on this website since it began, Wonho secured the top position in the abs/torso category with ease, doubling down on his 2020 performance, with no realistic contenders anywhere in sight. The extreme amount of Wonho voting is solely responsible for the general lack of male votes across all categories this year.
#2 – SHINDONG – SUPER JUNIOR
237 points
(2020 position – #3)
Is that buff man in the mirror really Super Junior’s Shingdong? Who can say for sure, but there’s no doubt that Kpopalypse readers can’t resist the Dong, with the man having a very good 2021.
#3 – KAI – EXO
201 points
(2020 position – #4)
Very few other male performers could really hold a candle to Wonho domination this year, but one such performer was EXO’s Kai, who had an excellent year, with no signs of his popularity slowing down.
#4 – SHOWNU – MONSTA X
149 points
(2020 position – #7)
Just like it’s impossible to mention TXT or GLAM without also mentioning BTS, it’s impossible to mention Shownu without also giving a nod to Wonho. However it’s not a negative situation for anybody – in the absence of Wonho, Shownu has moved up placings, carrying the abs crown for the remaining Monsta X members.
#5 – B.M – KARD
125 points
(2020 position – #2)
To be fair on Shownu though, it’s pretty much impossible to mention ANYONE in this category without also mentioning Wonho. In B.M’s case, it’s pretty clear to me that he’s got the right stuff to regain his chart placings, he just needs to put in the promotional work that Wonho does. Enough Instagram thirst posts and who knows where B.M’s chart positioning could go in the future.
#6 – BANG CHAN – STRAY KIDS
121 points
(2020 position – #23)
While the Kpopalypse Objectification Survey was very popular this year, it was also a bumper year for people trying to cheat the results, with some individuals putting in great effort to make fake duplicate votes look “authentic” – this is a waste of time as repeat votes are VERY easily detected no matter how subtle you think you’re being. If you want your bias to win, do it the honest way by spreading the survey to your favourite fandoms! Stray Kids members were one of the biggest recipients of duplicated cheat votes and a ton of junk results had to be removed to preserve data integrity, however even after the purging process it was obvious that Bang Chan still saw a huge increase in legitimate verified popularity this year.
#7 – BYEONGKWAN – A.C.E
104 points
(2020 position – #44)
Another huge mover in the charts this year was A.C.E’s Byeongkwan, reaching picture status for the first time ever and also marking the first time that any A.C.E member has really excelled beyond the legs category.
#8 – MINHO – SHINEE
103 points
(2020 position – #11)
SINee’s Minho got a boost this year probably due to increased activity both by SHINee and as a solo artist, although Kpopalypse objectification survey-doers will know that he has always performed well in the upper body category.
#9 – BAEKHO – NU’EST
91 points
(2020 position – #10)
Sure, he might have some of the worst tattoos outside of Mr Cool ICE, but if he’s also got one of the best tattoo canvasses, who really cares? The Nu’est k-pop veteran returns to the male objectification results again and again, proving to be an enduring favourite.
#10 – TAECYEON – 2PM
89 points
(2020 position – #8)
Having slipped a few spots given that 2PM are kind of past the “abs-flashing” portion of their career, Taecyeon still has what it takes for Kpopalypse readers to remember him. Here’s hoping he creates some new shirtless content for these posts sometime this decade as I’m really starting to run out of usable images and videos.
#11 – JUNGKOOK – BTS
85 points
(2020 position – #9)
BTS have been suffering in the polls ever since their fandom gained the reputation as a bunch of cyberbullying, doxing, death-threat-giving fuckstains that nobody wants to be associated with, but just remember that those highly vocal people represent a slim minority – most BTS fans are actually good folks who watch 10 minute long compilations of Jungkook flashing his abs just like you do.
#12 – TAEMIN – SHINEE
84 points
(2020 position – #24)
Inceased SHINee activity also saw Taemin spring back into picture status. I’m not sure what he’s going to do with that gun, perhaps he’s going to visit you folks who said you were voting for him and never got around to it.
#13 – HONGSEOK – PENTAGON
80 points
(2020 position – #5)
I guess Pentagon have been a bit quieter this year which explains the dip in results for Hongseok, who still looks as impressive as ever. Is that a microphone in his pocket, or is he just happy to see his fans?

That’s all for this post – Kpopalypse shall return with more postings to entertain you soon!
I’m happy enough that my idols got included in the honourable mention 😁
When you said monbebes had punished Shownu for Wonhogate last year, you were not kidding, surprised to see him climb back again to a relatively low 4 (relatively because he’s n1 for me). But sure many did seem to punish the rest of MX for either not supporting WH or seem to still be supporting WH. No one understands fans.
Sweet.
While it’s always a happy thing seeing Jihyo get the top level, Hyosung will always be my #1 because Hyosung.
*bites knuckle*
Also, Dumb Question for the Month:
WHO is the lady in that last picture that you’d memed? (0___0)
Is she an actual idol, or actress, or…. just some random gorgeous K-netz?
Inquiring for a friend. >___>
Somyi from DIA
Yes. Included because she also received a ton of cheat duplicate votes. You can’t game the system folks.
Wow.
Thanks to you both for the info – will have to follow her a bit more closely!
Oh i didnt vote for my fave yet this year, cause j wasnt their fan yet. But next time! WHO VOTED JYP????
